Help build Jazz and Judy a Ramp

Donation protected
Let's help to build Judy and Jazz a wheelchair ramp!!

It's been a tough road for these two.  Jazz is doing better with medications and is now ready to come home.  The biggest obstacle to that homecoming are the steps up to Judy's door, and to be perfectly honest, they are a challenge for Judy as well.  This would really make life so much better for the both of them and would be a blessing in so many ways.  Below I have posted the back story and how they arrived at this point.  I am praying you will consider helping by making a donation of any amount and no less important, sharing as much as possible.

For those who don't know, Judy is a retired police officer who developed Guillain-Barre Syndrome which paralyzed her years ago and even though she can somehow walk now, she still uses a cane and wheelchair.  This terrible disease has incapacitated her body to a certain degree, but not her indomitable will or her beautiful spirit.  She constantly amazes me with her can do attitude and the absolute will to never give up.

A post from Judy:

I feel like my whole world is falling in on me, as I may be about to lose my best friend.. I've had dogs all my life, but none like Jazz. Had it not been for Jazz, I would have died in the hospital when I was paralyzed and all my muscles atrophied. I was circling the drain literally, I was very septic and my liver was crashing. But I held on mostly for her. When I eventually got out of the hospital and went to a nursing home, she was my lifeline, as she transitioned from a pet/show dog into my service dog and partner.. she pulled my wheelchair everywhere, and even let me show her from the wheelchair with more than modest success.. before I was paralyzed she was #1 in 2012, and afterwards, she was #2 in 2013 (only 7 points out of first); in 2014 we only attended 3 shows, and defeated 63 dogs to finish up #3 in the country in 2014.
Jazz has spondylosis in her spine, which has paralyzed her rear end and I am helpless to return the favor and be her lifeline. There are 8 steps to get up on my front deck to get in the house, and she was dragging herself up and down those steps until this morning. She is out of steam, and so am I. A friend is sending me a wheelchair for Jazz, so we can try to get her going better, while I see if I can get a ramp built, so she doesn't have to negotiate stairs. My groomer also has a boarding facility, and she will board Jazz reasonably until the wheelchair arrives, where she is on a ground floor situation and does not have to negotiate stairs for now. Of course all that is not cheap, but I have to try. Until I am sure she is finished and has given up, then neither will I. She is still eating and drinking. She does not seem to be in pain, just bewildered, and embarrassed. I will not hang on out of my own selfishness when the time comes. I said as long as she got herself up and down the stairs, I would not put her down, and I didn't. Now she cannot negotiate the steps, and I am approaching a crossroads and it is KILLING ME. I wonder if she is stubbornly hanging on for me? She definitely knows how much she is loved and needed. I know that the euthanasia and cremation is going to run around $300 total, and when that time comes I may have to start a gofundme, but I hope it won't be anytime too soon. I am just not ready for this.

Update on Jazz: She has been relocated to a boarding facility on level ground to make her life easier while she is regaining her strength.  She is also on medications to help ease her pain and they seem to be helping.

Here is a link to see the amazing life of the wonderful service dog named Jazz.
