IPv8 is an open-source initiative focused on reimagining the future of Internet routing and network architecture.

Created by network architect Jamie Thain, IPv8 is being developed as an independent open-source project, with 100% of all donated funds going directly toward IPv8 research, development, infrastructure, testing, and community collaboration.

Today’s Internet still relies heavily on systems designed decades ago. As the world grows more connected, networks have become increasingly complex, difficult to manage, expensive to scale, and harder to secure. IPv8 was created as a new approach — one designed around simplicity, scalability, interoperability, and practical deployment in the real world.

The goal of IPv8 is to help create:

- Open standards driven by the community
