Help build Gramps' Woods

 Gramps, Dad, Andrew, Andy or Professor Webster - however you know him, Dad has always had a love of nature and, in particular, trees. He explained to us when we were younger how important they are for the planet and everything around us. An avid walker with mum, he has explored many woods over the years and has a deep knowledge of trees.

So for his 70th birthday, we have decided to build Gramps Woods!

Working with a charity called Make It Wild - who are based in Yorkshire and on a mission to plant new woodlands and build ecosystems on fallow land throughout Yorkshire - we have managed to secure an area in a place called Dacre Woodlands where we will plant 200 saplings to start Gramps Wood. It will have a pathway and clearing with a bench and can be visited on request (as it is a protected site initially), and will also have a plaque saying "Gramps’ Woods".

We are all very excited about the idea and dreaming of all of Gramps' grandchildren (even his grandchildren’s children!), friends and family playing, enjoying and exploring the woods as it grows over the years, attracting more wildlife and building an ecosystem that Gramps would be proud of. It will be a lasting, living legacy for Dad.

So if you would like to get something for Andrew for his 70th, we would love for you to donate towards Gramps woods and help us build it so you can also be part of it.

We also plan to expand the woods next year with another few hundred trees that we will plant, so more to come in the future too!

UPDATE!
Due to the incredible generosity and support from our friends and family, we have worked with the Charity - Make it Wild - to extend Gramps' Woods and have been able to secure a few more hundred trees! So we are increasing the goal! Thank you again for your kindness. x
