Hi, my name is Ralphael Washington, and I’m building a dream that I wish I had when I was younger.
Growing up, I didn’t have access to music programs or engineering labs. My family didn’t have the
financial support to put me through those programs, so I taught myself — hour after hour, year after
year — reading, practicing, learning every piece of the craft on my own.
As I grew older and finally attended school, I realized I had already taught myself most of what I needed
to know. And if I could do that alone, imagine what kids could do with real guidance, real tools, and a
real safe place to create.
That’s why I founded Foundation X, a nonprofit in Atlanta dedicated to teaching youth audio
engineering, music production, digital arts, and creative career skills. WHAT WE ARE BUILDING:
- Safe after-school studio
- Starter classroom with computers
- Small teaching studio
