*Help Us Build Chris's Haven of Hope: A Sober Living House*
Hello, my name is Marc Montplaisir, and I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt mission that is deeply personal to me and my family. Together, we are working to transform a property in Bryant Pond, Maine, into a sober living house called **Chris's Haven of Hope**, in honor of my late brother, Christopher Montplaisir.
I have been sober for 13 months now and currently reside in a sober living home, Resilience House, in Manchester, NH, where I also serve as the house manager. My journey to recovery has been challenging, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. Before entering treatment, I struggled with addiction to hard drugs and lived on the streets. My older brother Chris, who attended a program called Teen Challenge, was my inspiration. He showed me that change is possible and encouraged both me and my younger brother, Billy, to pursue sobriety.
Chris was sober for over two years and found a renewed sense of purpose through his faith in Jesus Christ. He became an active member of our church, One Church, where he volunteered and assisted with baptisms. Tragically, we lost Chris to a heart attack on August 31, 2024. Since this tragedy I have takin over his position as a volunteer at One Church greeting folks as they come in and I now help my grandpops in assisting baptisms. Watching my brother pass away was one of the hardest experiences of my life, but it also ignited a fire within me to honor his legacy.
In his memory, my family and I have come together to open a sober living house in Maine, providing a safe and structured environment for individuals transitioning out of treatment. We want to create a space where others can find hope and healing, just as Chris did.
We plan to name the house **Chris's Haven of Hope** to keep his spirit alive and continue the work he started. However, the property needs significant renovations to become livable. I am committed to doing much of the work myself to save costs, but we need your help to cover essential building supplies.
We are seeking to raise funds for:
- Sheetrock
- Flooring
- Electrical work
- Appliances
- Furniture
- Gravel and dirt for a new driveway
- A new and larger septic system
Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to opening Chris's Haven of Hope. Your support will not only help us create a sanctuary for those in recovery but will also honor my brother's memory and the impact he had on our lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your network. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those seeking a second chance. God bless you all.
Please remember to make this public on your Facebook when sharing, thank you!
With gratitude,
Marc Montplaisir
