This isn't just the story of how I lost my son. It's the story of how his life inspired a mission to help other families before they reach a point of crisis.

My name is Adrianne Blake, and I am the founder of Cameron’s Haven, Inc., a Maryland nonprofit organization created in honor of my son, Cameron Anthony Blake.

Many people first came to know Cameron and I during one of the darkest periods of my life. People watched, prayed, shared our story, and hoped alongside our family as Cameron fought for his life. When Cameron passed away, I had no idea what his legacy would eventually become.

Years later, Cameron’s Haven was born.

But Cameron’s Haven is also shaped by my own lived experience. I spent much of my childhood in Maryland’s foster care system after experiencing trauma and instability. As an adult, I have experienced firsthand how quickly families can reach a point of crisis when housing, safety, support, and stability begin disappearing at the same time.

Those experiences taught me something I now believe deeply:

Families should not have to completely fall apart before meaningful help becomes available.

Cameron’s Haven exists to help change that.

Our mission is to break cycles of instability by providing safe housing, compassionate support, and opportunities for healing and growth to individuals and families impacted by foster care and trauma.

LOOK WHAT WE'VE ALREADY BUILT

When this fundraiser began, Cameron’s Haven was still being transformed from a vision into an organization.

Since then:

✓ Cameron’s Haven, Inc. has officially incorporated in Maryland.

✓ We obtained our federal EIN.

✓ Our organizational website is live at cameronshaveninc.org.

✓ Our founding board has been established and organizational development is underway.

✓ Our First 100 Donors Campaign has launched to recognize the earliest people and businesses who believe in this mission.

✓ Cameron’s Haven has received local media coverage from WMAR-2 News.

✓ Our website and Cameron’s story are now appearing in Google search, helping more people discover our mission.

We are no longer simply talking about building Cameron’s Haven.

We are building it.

OUR NEXT MILESTONE: 501(c)(3) STATUS

Our next major step is applying to the IRS for recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization.

The filing fee for IRS Form 1023 is $600.

That is our immediate fundraising target.

We don't need one person to give $600.
