Help build an Indigenous Study Center for the Huni Kuin

Donation protected
Greetings to all! It is my honor and joy to open this fundraiser. Txana Ikakuru and his wife, Batani, are leaders of the Huni Kuin people, an indigenous tribe of the Jordão River, a tributary of the Brazilian Amazon in the state of Acre. Their families have carried the knowledge of ancient Huni Kuin language and lifeways through generations of colonization. We humbly ask your assistance to realize Txana and Batani’s dream for the future of their people - to build a study center in their village where the children can study and revive the ancient traditions of their native language, sacred chants, handicraft, and lifeways.

I have been working and studying with Txana and Batani and would like your help to make their dreams come true.
