On Friday October 1, while on a trip to Philadelphia to visit her grandson, Joyce fell down some stairs and suffered a spinal cord injury. She underwent emergency surgery in Philadelphia and was in the ICU there until Oct 29th when we were finally able to transfer her back to Iowa. She is now in the process of rehabilitation and long term recovery. We will need to build a wheelchair ramp into her house so that she can eventually come home. We are raising money to help with this cost and other costs such as home modifications for accessibility and potential medical bills beyond insurance.
