Hi there! My name is Misty and I'm the founder of the budding nonprofit Vesta Village. The vision for VV was created from my own life experiences and modalities I needed to seek out and learn for my own healing, especially working through Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) and autoimmune diseases. I want VV to be the resource for others I wish I had while going through various points in my life. The video on this page has more about those things!
What is Vesta Village?
A grassroots not-for-profit organization, Vesta Village will be a virtual school for practical life skills. My vision is to bring in practitioners of all backgrounds to teach deep dive workshops on topics that span the whole spectrum of human-ing - everything from holistic health practices and modalities to communication skills to social skills to relationship skills to financial skills to survival skills.
In our modern culture, it's these "how to be a human" practices that are seemingly going extinct in our technology-obsessed world.
How will Vesta Village operate?
VV will be completely free of charge to anyone wanting to access these workshops.
For the practitioners, they will be paid for their time, in addition to having the opportunity to be a built in mentor for the students.
In this way, we're supporting not only wisdom sharing, but we're supporting the small business/gig economies through providing resources for the therapists and practitioners.
What will the funds be used for?
The funds will be used for marketing and operational costs - building the website, paying the practitioners, hiring a marketing person to help, etc.
Eventually VV may incorporate building a phone app, doing in person events, potentially even retreats - the sky is the limit, but for now we're working on the foundational structure.
Note: The fundraising goal is set on the unrealistically low end on purpose - this is a fundraiser for the startup costs to get going, not necessarily for long-term sustainability. Any donation that helps us meet or far exceed our fundraising goal is so appreciated, especially as a monthly contributor!

As a note - as of 10/4/25 we're currently entering an agreement with a fiscal sponsor so donations can be tax deductible. Until everything is finalized, everything donated will be considered a "personal gift" for tax purposes!
