Help Build a Survival Ramp for Julie

Two days ago, my wife Julie’s world was entirely upended. Julie is a fighter. Recently, she’s been in the middle of a massive battle to build her own independent life. When she decided to test the market to see if a solo career was a viable business move, without talking to existing clients mind you, she was fired from her job and forced to start seeking financial aid to help her start her own salon. She was backed into a corner with zero options, but she was still determined to stand up and fight.
Then, the floor dropped out from under us. Julie suffered a catastrophic fall, breaking both of her ankles. She underwent intense surgery to put one of them back together. She is completely wheelchair-bound, unable to work, and facing weeks of painful rehabilitation. But here is the raw, terrifying reality we are staring at today: Our home is a trap for her. It is a 30-foot stretch from our front door down to the street. We have zero handicap accessibility. Right now, if I am away working a night shift to keep our heads above water and a fire breaks out in our home, Julie cannot get out. Additionally, the visiting nurse's association refuses to help her with in-home physical therapy and without a way to leave the house safely she cannot do outpatient therapy. She is a literal prisoner to her injuries. We need to build a custom, 30-foot U-shaped wheelchair ramp and make immediate home modifications to make this house a sanctuary of safety, not a hazard.
I’m a tradesman—I’ve spent 20 years building things with my hands and solving problems with logic. I can handle the grit of the execution, but right now, I have to swallow my pride and look to my community for the capital. Every single dollar raised goes directly to the raw materials for this ramp and securing the ground beneath Julie’s feet while she heals and fights her way back to independence. We are not people who look for handouts. We are people who believe that when a soldier is down in the trenches, the battalion rallies to lift them out. If you can give, you are directly buying Julie’s safety and dignity. If you can’t, please share this battle cry with someone who can. Thank you for holding the line with us.
