Help Build a School in Nara, Mali
Donation protected
Assalamu alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh! (May the peace and mercy of Allah be with you). Blessings to you and yours.
Today marks the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. In the Islamic faith, Ramadan is an important time for Muslims to devote ourselves to our faith and become closer to Allah. It is a representation of spiritual cleansing and gaining a better understanding of human suffering.
As some of you may know, during Ramdan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. But, Ramadan is not only about fasting from food (And, no. Not even water :)). We abstain from backbiting, gossip, cursing, etc. And mostly importantly, we perform acts of charity or Zakat. This Ramadan, I wanted to give back to my community in an important and impactful way.
I had the opportunity this past December to visit the school my mother built in our village, Nara, Mali (pictured above). She is currently in the process of building a second school, as the distance of the first school does not allow access for all children in our village to attend. I’ve started a GoFundMe in order to raise funds for that second school. My mother is an incredibly hard-working, dedicated, and loving human being. I've been infinitely blessed that Allah has allowed me the privilege of being her daughter. I see her kindness and devotion and selflessness every Ramadan, and I hope that you all can help me in bringing about change in our community. No donation is too small. Even a dollar will help us go a long way. The link is in my Instagram bio.
Praying that Allah makes this Ramadan easier for us. Praying that He forgives our sins. Praying that we become the best versions of ourselves. Praying that Allah puts Baraka (blessings) into our actions. We got this y’all.
