I want to take a moment to share my story here, not to place blame or speak negatively about anyone, but to ask for help from our community.
A few months ago, Holy Trinity ChildCare & Learning Center was preparing to close its doors. Wanting to keep this vital service available for families, I stepped up to take on the business. For two to three months, I worked through the lease process, only to discover challenges that made success nearly impossible.
The church proposed rent of $3,000 - $4,000 per month plus utilities for our current building, as well as half of the gas and half of utilities for another campus building we might use only a handful of times per year. As a nonprofit childcare program, this was simply not sustainable or fair. Still, I remained patient and hopeful that things would work out. Unfortunately, that never happened due to only a few on the council board (not all).
During this process, I invested more than $8,000 in licensing fees and building repairs—repairs that were required in order to pass inspections and provide a safe environment for children and families. Despite my efforts, I am now faced with losing the building entirely, along with the money I invested. To make matters more difficult, we have just two weeks to move our belongings out.
This situation is incredibly heartbreaking for me personally, and for the 50 families who rely on our care. But I am not giving up. I am asking our community to come together to help us get our new childcare facility up and running.
At this point, I am out of funds and cannot purchase everything needed to open a fully functional center.
Any support—whether through donations of items, financial contributions, or simply spreading the word—would mean the world to us and the families we serve.
Thank you for hearing my story and for supporting a vision that is bigger than me. Together, we can make sure that local children and families continue to have a safe, nurturing place to learn and grow!
