Help build a sanctuary for senior horses

Almost Heaven Horse Sanctuary is a non-profit organization who focuses on providing a lifelong home for senior, neglected, and difficult-to-adopt rescued horses. We sold our house in Florida and used those funds to purchase an overgrown, 400 acre farm, which will serve as the sanctuary. We are in the process of clearing pastures, installing fencing, fixing up the barns, and repairing the old house that will serve as the sanctuary's office as well as provide a place to stay for visiting volunteers.

Sugar Plum (pictured) is our first official Sanctuary Resident! Please donate today to help us make enough repairs and install enough fence to start bringing in more residents. There are too many horses out there who have served humans, and when their use was exhausted, they were sent to auctions to be slaughtered, abused, or neglected. These amazing animals; and people partners, don't deserve to live out their years like that. And they certainly don't deserve to have their life end in a frightful, stressful, painful, manner, way before they were ready to leave this earth.

It is for this reason that we started Almost Heaven Horse Sanctuary.
