Help Build a Safe Maternity Clinic for Mothers in Burundi

No mother should prepare to give birth and still wonder if there will be a room for her.

My name is Angele Ntirampeba. I am a Burundian mother of two living in Australia, and I know what it feels like to carry a child with hope, fear, and prayer all at once.

I was fortunate to give birth to my children here in Australia, where safe care, trained professionals, and proper facilities were available to me.

Every mother deserves that same level of care, no matter where she lives.

Burundi is my home country, and this cause is deeply personal to me.

Burundi is a small East African country where many health facilities are under-resourced. In one community, a small clinic serves six surrounding suburbs, yet it only has:
One delivery room
One recovery room
Space for just two women at a time.

This means that when several mothers arrive in labour, some are forced to wait. Some give birth in overcrowded conditions. And some face situations where safe space is simply not available.

Take a moment to imagine that:
A mother in labour… waiting, not because help isn’t needed, but because there is simply no room.

No mother should ever have to experience that.
