I work at a Walmart Supercenter right by Broadway Avenue, where a whole bunch of stray cats hang around the store. Every day, some good-hearted people spend their own money to feed these cats, and I do the same during my overnight shifts, making sure they get a meal around lunchtime. Most of the strays are boys, but there’s one mama cat who keeps having babies every year. I adopted her previous litter myself, and they’re all grown up now. This is probably her fourth litter, and I felt so bad for her always having to care for new kittens.

I decided to take the mama cat home so she could give birth in a safe place, and I plan to get her fixed soon so she can finally rest from having babies. But I already have five cats at home, including her previous litter, so I can’t keep the mama and her four new babies inside. That’s why I’m hoping to build a den in my backyard, so they can stay together and have a safe, comfortable place to live without having to give them away.
