Edward is my husband, and he has always been a source of strength and support for our family. Now at 86 years old, he faces diabetes, heart troubles, and other health conditions that make it extremely difficult for him to walk up and down the front steps of our home. Each day, I watch him struggle to pull himself up and down the stairs, and it breaks my heart to see him in pain and at risk of falling.

We have reached out to organizations for help, but many are focused on hurricane relief or only assist veterans. Since Edward was never in the armed forces, he does not qualify for those programs. We also tried to get help through our insurance, but his doctor never sent the paperwork to Blue Cross and Blue Shield, so our request for help with the ramp was denied. We are doing everything we can, but we have run out of options.

We want to build a safe ramp for Edward so he can enter and exit our home with dignity and without fear. The funds raised will go directly toward constructing a sturdy, accessible ramp that will make a world of difference in his daily life. This ramp will not only help Edward regain some independence, but it will also bring peace of mind to our family, knowing he is safer at home.
