Help Us Create a Lifeline for Animals on Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula

Every day on Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula, abandoned, injured, and neglected dogs and cats struggle to survive with limited access to veterinary care and rescue resources. Many animals face illness, injury, starvation, or abandonment with nowhere to turn.

We believe that can change.

We are Axis Mundi Global Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving both people and animals through compassionate, community-centered initiatives. We have been given an extraordinary opportunity to secure a property in the community of San Buenaventura, Puntarenas, that can become the foundation for a permanent animal rescue and veterinary resource serving this region for years to come.

The house and lot featured in our campaign video may appear modest today, but it represents something much larger: the first phase of a long-term vision to create a no-kill, free-roam rescue center, veterinary clinic, and community resource for animals in need.

Our goal is to transform this property into a facility capable of caring for approximately 30 to 50 dogs and cats while providing veterinary services, rehabilitation, emergency response, and a safe place for animals awaiting adoption or long-term care.

The need is real.

While veterinary services exist in other parts of the region, access can be difficult for many residents, rescuers, and animals requiring immediate attention. Too often, animals suffer because help is simply too far away. By establishing a local rescue and veterinary center, we can provide timely care, reduce suffering, and create a sustainable support system for the surrounding communities.

Our commitment to this mission has already begun. Before launching this campaign, we invested our own funds to purchase a dedicated rescue vehicle that will allow us to respond quickly to reports of injured, abandoned, or at-risk animals. We are not waiting for others to act—we are building the foundation ourselves and inviting others to join us.

Just one minute from this property, we have also designated additional land on our main property for future expansion. As the rescue grows, this space will allow us to increase capacity and serve even more animals in need.

Once this property has been secured and prepared, we will move into the next phase of development, which includes construction of veterinary facilities, animal housing, volunteer accommodations, staff quarters, and additional community support infrastructure.

Detailed plans, professional renderings, progress reports, photographs, and video updates will be shared with supporters as milestones are achieved. We are committed to transparency and accountability throughout every phase of this project.
