Umer Khattab and his family of 8 live in a small 2 room dilapidated house in the village of Barakhao, Pakistan. Umer is a simple man with big heart, who has always gone above and beyond to selflessly serve others, in spite of limited availability of resources and a meager salary. He is a loving father to 3 daughters and 2 sons. Umer has also wholeheartedly stepped up to adopt a niece who was orphaned at birth. His dream is to provide a safe and practical house for his family.
The current state of the house is incredibly unstable and unsafe for the family. The roof is broken and in danger of collapsing due to severe weather conditions. The dripping roof, and cold winds seeping through the cracked walls, make the severe winter months rather unbearable.
Umer is a dedicated father who has a dream of providing equal opportunities to his daughters and sons, to equip them with the best education and help them become contributing members of society. He has been working multiple jobs to support their education and help them achieve their goals. However, there is an urgent need to provide a safe and functional living space that would be conducive to his family's health, wellbeing and learning. This has been challenging to achieve on his modest salary of approx. C$120/month.
After going through numerous contractor estimates, the most feasible quote is for C$26,000. My family and I have contributed C$5,000 and are looking for your support to meet the remaining target of C$21,000.
