Firstly, let me say that doing this is very hard for me. I never ask for help and always find a way…but when you run out of options, you have to put pride aside. So I guess this IS me finding a way.

About me first…

Hi there! My name is John.

I am a simple man, about to be 49 years old and live in Massachusetts.

I have a small farmstead and my goal is to grow it and live simply/free by raising animals and living off the land as we were intended to. Unfortunately, I was set back years due to a work accident and their insurance company helped me incur major debt.(cliffs notes version,it was a horrible experience)

I was finally cleared to rejoin the workforce in June of 2024 and have been putting in as many hours as i can to catch up. However, at the same time, my parents went through a foreclosure and had nowhere to go. It goes without saying that I had to step up and find a way to help….it’s family! There is no room in my 950sf house so they now live in a camper on my half acre property. This obviously is not the ideal situation for seniors, who’s only income is social security. Especially during the winter!

I’d like to build them a tiny home instead of the camper. Living in a camper is hard in the winter, both physically and financially. Both have health issues but dad can’t do much due to having a double bypass a few years ago which took away a large percentage of heart usage. The three stairs to the camper leave him winded.

They took care of me, making sure that I grew to be the beat person I could be. Now it’s my turn to take care of them. I need them to be comfortable.

Unfortunately, my credit took a huge hit during the work injury saga so options are limited. As of just recently (5/11/25) I was able to get on a path to rectify this but it could be years before I’ll have the borrowing power to build a small dwelling for them. Even a dollar helps,…dollars add up!

The reason I include my farmstead in this is so donors get something in return. Not only do you get to help improve my parents lives but you can also follow along my journey as well, which includes/benefits them. I’ll be posting periodic updates.

P.S. I had the option for AI to clean this up and make it more appealing but that would be disingenuous.
