Help build a sanctuary for dogs in Mexico
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I want to take a moment to share with you my passion for creating a dog sanctuary in Mexico. My name is Veronica, and I am a dog lover who was inspired to take action after witnessing the dire circumstances that many stray dogs face in Mexico.
During a trip to the hometown of my parents, just three hours outside of Guadalajara, I was deeply moved by the number of hungry and injured dogs in the area. I encountered one in particular, a timid and malnourished dog whom I named Cali, that allowed me to feed her and gain her trust. It was then that I knew I could never let her go, and she is now living her best life with my husband and me in our California home.
However, the situation for many stray dogs in Mexico is much more dire. Homeless dogs are being poisoned, run over, and neglected to the point of starvation. That is why I am creating the "Refugio de Mascotas" dog sanctuary. The goal of this sanctuary is not only to provide a safe place for homeless dogs to eat, sleep, and be looked after, but also to partner with a local vet who can provide vaccinations, flea medicine, baths, neutering, and spaying of the dogs to prevent overbreeding and help with temperament.
In addition, the sanctuary will work with others to bring dogs to the US and other areas of Mexico for adoption. This is our ultimate goal, and I am committed to making it a reality. I have already assembled a team of contractors to build this sanctuary from the ground up on a vacant lot, complete with full plumbing, sewer, and electrical services, along with a one-bedroom house where a full-time employee will live to attend to the dogs 24/7.
However, I cannot do this alone. I am asking for your help to make this dream a reality. Your contribution today can help provide food, water, construction materials, medication, medical treatment, and all the other things these poor dogs need. Together, we can give these dogs a tomorrow.
Please consider donating to our GoFundMe page and follow our progress on Instagram (@Refugio_de_mascotas_mexico) and Facebook (Refugio de Mascotas). If you are unable to donate, you can still help by sharing this post with your friends and family.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I hope you will consider helping me make a difference in the lives of these dogs.
