Help Build a Church for Pastor Daniel
Donation protected
A few weeks ago, Erik and I picked up the boys from their last day of school and drove down to Piedras Negras Mexico. We wanted to visit family friends (Ken and Leah Spieler and boys) and help them in whatever way they saw fit.
The Spieler family moved from MN to Piedras Negras a little over 10 years ago, and serve in a local church (Iglesia Bautista Fuente de Vida de P. Negras) seeking to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, our greatest treasure, with the Mexican people.
After leaving, there is one need we feel compelled to help with more. Daniel Contreras, a Mexican pastor, and his family serve at a sister church in San Carlos (Coahuila Mexico) about an hour from Piedras Negras… but they have no church building. They are currently meeting in their small rental house for church or outside. We set up a tent structure beside their house so they could have some sort of shelter from the sun and elements. They were grateful, but we left San Carlos hot, sweaty, dirty and not convinced we had provided much of a viable meeting place for them.
We learned that next to the place they rent, there is about a ¼ acre for sale which has a partially built structure existing on it. The property cost is 15K USD. We believe the local support of the church and others is 3K so our goal is to help raise 12K.
Thank you for joining us if you feel led!
