Hoi allemaal,

Mijn naam is Bram en ik ben bezig met het bouwen van een groot stalen kunstwerk voor de Nederlandse en Duitse Burning Man-gemeenschappen — Where The Sheep Sleep (NL) en Kiez Burn (DE).

Dit is een passieproject dat volledig draait op vrijwillige inzet, en ik kan jullie steun wel gebruiken.

De installatie wordt een 5 meter hoge stalen constructie, opgebouwd uit vierkante buizen in het onderste gedeelte, met daarbovenop een sculpturale kruisvorm — geen religieus kruis, maar een plusteken dat 45 graden is gedraaid: een symbool van openheid, verbinding en verreiking.

In de kern is dit werk een tempel — een stille, indrukwekkende ruimte waar mensen samen kunnen komen, kunnen reflecteren, en zich kunnen verbinden met wat er écht toe doet — een heiligdom waar sensualiteit, radicale zelfexpressie, speelsheid en verbondenheid worden gevierd.

Het is een plek voor alles wat Burning Man is: vrijheid, nieuwsgierigheid, acceptatie, en het vieren van onze mooie, chaotische menselijkheid.

Het zou kunnen aanvoelen als een kerk. Of een ruïne. Of een kompas. Dat is precies de bedoeling. Het vertelt je niet wat je moet denken — het nodigt je uit om te voelen.

Waar ik je hulp bij nodig heb:

Hoewel al het werk vrijwillig gebeurt, zijn de materialen dat helaas niet. Ik hoop €2.200 op te halen om de essentiële kosten te dekken, zoals:

Elke euro gaat direct naar de bouw van dit kunstwerk — er is geen winst, alleen passie.

Waarom dit ertoe doet:

Kunst op Burning Man is meer dan iets om naar te kijken — het is spiritueel, emotioneel en transformerend. Dit werk nodigt deelnemers uit om te vertragen, contact te maken met zichzelf en met anderen, en het leven te vieren — rauw, echt en levend.

My name is Bram, and I’m building a large steel art sculpture for the Dutch and German Burning Man communities — Where The Sheep Sleep (NL) and Kiez Burn (DE). This is a volunteer-driven passion project, and I’m asking for your support to help bring it to life.

The installation will be a 5 meter high steel structure made of square tubing at the lower halve, topped with a sculptural cross — not a religious cross, but a plus sign turned 45 degrees, a symbol of openness, connection, and elevation.

At its core, this piece is a temple — a quiet, striking space where people can gather, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most — a sanctuary where people can come to worship sensuality, radical self-expression, playfulness, and connection.

It’s a space for all things Burning Man: freedom, curiosity, acceptance, and the celebration of our beautiful, chaotic humanity.

It might feel like a church. Or a ruin. Or a compass. That’s the point. It doesn’t tell you what to think — it invites you to feel.

What I need your help with:

Although the work is 100% voluntary, the materials are not. I’m aiming to raise €2,200 to cover essential costs like:

* Steel tubing and sheetmetal

* Laser-cutting steel for details and symbolism

* Bolts, nuts, hinges, and heavy-duty assembly tools

* Lighting (LEDs and lanterns) to give it atmosphere at night

* Fabric and weatherproof materials for atmosphere, texture and shade

* Transport, safety equipment, and tools

Every euro will go directly into building this structure — there’s no profit, only passion.
