A little about Bug:
Bug was recently diagnosed with Lupoid Onychodystrophyas a result of the quick of her nails (on multiple paws) painfully separating from the nail itself before breaking off entirely causing pain, ER visit, sedation, surgery and medication.
In one month she's had two separate emergency surgeries which she is still very slowly recovering from (each visit cost shy of $500, as well as her follow up visit when she got her diagnosis).
She has lost her appetite, can not run and play like she want to, is lethargic and in pain /crying often. Bug is so joyous and loving, it is heartbreaking to see her hurting.
Her doctor believes with her current RX (currently about $100/month) should start to show progress in 6-10 weeks.
In the mean time, she is in need of blood work to confirm diagnosis (I believe it to be another disease called SLO).
Multiple nails on different paws are now showing the same symptoms and the doctor believes she will continue to lose any affected nails (each one resulting in another surgery) until the RX has had time to correct the issue, assuming the initial diagnosis agrees with the blood work.
Bug is my best friend, my family and my support. She has helped me survive multiple abusive and dangerous situations and assists me in my day to day life to help manage my PTSD and BPD.
This last year has been really rough on us and the stress of not knowing I can support another emergency ER trip has been difficult.
I owe so much to Bug and want to be sure she is healthy and happy.
Thank you so much for your kindness, prayers, friendship and support of Bug!
She truly is a friend to all and can’t wait to get back on her feet and share the love again.
