My sweet cat Buddy claimed me as his human when I rescued him off the streets about eight months ago. He quickly became a beloved part of my life—a true sweetheart and velcro cat who brings so much joy to my days. Last Sunday, while I was away visiting family, Buddy had an unexpected emergency. He was rushed to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital, where they discovered he had a urinary blockage. The blockage caused severe inflammation and bleeding, and his kidney values were dangerously high. The vet explained that Buddy needed a catheter and continuous IV fluids to flush out his kidneys and bladder, preventing kidney failure and further complications. When I arrived at the hospital, Buddy was happy to see me and started purring, but he was in bad shape. The other option was to let him go, but at just two years old, I couldn't bear the thought of losing him. Buddy has already been through so much, and I wanted to give him every chance to recover. I told the vet to go ahead with the procedure, even though the cost was overwhelming. After 24 hours of treatment, Buddy improved greatly—his levels dropped dramatically, and he started to feel better. The total cost for his emergency care is more than I can afford on my own.
