Help Buddy pee again!

We recently adopted Buddy, a sweet and affectionate cat. He had been in foster care for over a year because nobody wanted to adopt him - he's a little skittish and is FIV+. It broke our hearts to see he wasn't being adopted, so we took him home with us.
We'd only had him about a month, and a few days ago he stopped eating and started to vomit and dribble little drops of bloody urine all around the house. We took him into the kitty ER and found out he had a urinary blockage, a life-threatening condition that causes the urine to build up, which can quickly lead to kidney damage and bladder rupture. Luckily we caught it early. He underwent a procedure to unblock the urethra and was doing well. However, they're having trouble keeping his catheter going and he's having some complications of the urethral lining. Initially, he was supposed to return home tomorrow (Monday), but he may be kept longer if the catheter issues continue and until he is able to pee by himself.
So far his medical bills are in the thousands - around $4,000 - that's if he is able to return home tomorrow. We're so happy to have Buddy in our family and really just want him to be OK. We would truly appreciate any help, big or small, to help us continue to care for Buddy as he deserves.
