My name is Linda Brewer, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my friend Nic and his dog, Buddy, who needs urgent surgery.
Buddy is 6 years old and was rescued as a puppy at just 6 weeks old from a parking lot. Due to malnutrition, his right hind leg never properly developed, leaving him with long-term issues in his knee and hip. He’s essentially been a tripod but carrying the leg his whole life.
Despite this, Buddy has grown into an incredibly loving dog. He’s trained as a therapy dog and is known for his gentle, friendly nature—he loves kids, other dogs, and everyone he meets.
Recently, Buddy’s condition has worsened. His mobility is now very limited, and his other hind leg is starting to become compromised. After consulting multiple veterinarians, it’s been recommended that his right hind leg be amputated as soon as possible so he can move comfortably and avoid further damage.
The surgery is scheduled for April 9th at the nonprofit Hearts Alive Village Animal Clinic in Las Vegas. The total cost for the procedure, exams, and aftercare is estimated at $2,500.
At the same time, Nic has been dealing with a work injury that has kept him out of work for several months, creating a serious financial strain. He has done everything he can, but he’s reached a point where he can’t cover this alone.
Buddy still has so much life in him. He’s happy, social, and full of love, and this surgery will give him the chance to keep moving comfortably and continue being the dog everyone knows and loves.
If you’re able to help in any way, even a small amount makes a difference. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
