Buddy is not just a pet—he is a cherished family member who has been by my side through thick and thin. Recently, Buddy was diagnosed with MMM disease, a rare condition in dogs that has brought unexpected and lifelong medical expenses. The diagnosis means Buddy will need daily medication, ongoing biopsies, and multiple tests throughout his life. Right now, he is experiencing lockjaw, which requires me to hand-feed him every three hours, day and night. The treatment and care Buddy needs will be ongoing forever, and all donations will go directly to the veterinarian office to cover these essential costs.


Buddy came into my life at around 4 to 6 weeks old. On Christmas Eve, we found him and his sister abandoned in a box in the snow in an empty parking lot. I took them home and nursed them back to health. While his sister found a new home, Buddy stayed with me and quickly became a part of my family. He was there for me during my darkest times, including my fight with breast cancer. Buddy never gave up on me, and I am determined not to give up on him.
