Decades of dedication should lead to opportunity, not be cut short by a lack of practical support.
I’m Edward Sczudlo, founder of The Maitri Project. We are raising $25,000 to support Buddhist nuns and women pursuing the Geshema degree, one of the highest levels of Tibetan Buddhist scholarship.
In 2016, Tibetan nuns earned the Geshema degree for the first time. The path takes decades of study, discipline, and examination. Yet housing, healthcare, study expenses, and exam costs can stand between a devoted scholar and the chance to complete her training.
Maitri helps address those practical barriers. Gifts to this campaign will support nuns’ housing, healthcare, study, and examination needs through The Maitri Project’s relationships with the communities we serve. The $25,000 goal is a contribution toward this work, not a guarantee of a specific number of degrees or graduates.
When women can continue their studies, their knowledge can reach future students and communities. Your support helps make space for that learning and leadership to grow.
This is an organizer-managed fundraiser for The Maitri Project. Funds received will be directed through Maitri toward support for female monastics and Geshema education. Learn more at https://themaitriproject.com/#femalegeshes
