Dear friends,

 

I am raising money to help my friend Quoang, a Buddhist monk, receive medical attention. Quoang lives in a monastery and does not speak much English. He moved here from Vietnam to be a full time volunteer providing Buddhist services in the community--such as visiting the homes of the bereaved and praying at the feet of those who have COVID.

 

I met Quoang while visiting the temple one day. He gave me free oranges and books. He asked me if I would teach him English. When I arrived last week to give him a lesson, my heart broke at what I saw. He was very, very sick. I could see the pain on his face, and there were tears in his eyes. For the past 2 months, Quoang has had something serious going on in his stomach causing him agony. We do not know if it is a stomach ulcer, cancer, or another disease--he will not go to get medical treatment, because the hospital already charged him thousands of dollars last month when he went to the ER over this pain (I saw the bills with my own eyes), and he has no insurance. Quoang is suffering, but won't leave his basement because he can't be in debt, and the temple does not have the funds to help him.

 

He has no one else here in America. He only has me to help him right now.

 

Please help me help him. In order to incentivize support, I have come up with a list of rewards for donations which I hope will be meaningful to you.
