Help Buddah Keep Fighting

As some of you may remember, our boy Buddah recently went through extensive surgery for dental, his kidneys — multiple transfusions, long hospital stays, and enough medical bills to make any cat rethink nine lives. But he pulled through, and for a few precious weeks, he was doing great.

Then mommy noticed his breathing seemed a little off. After a quick call to the emergency vet, they suggested some Gabapentin to calm him so we could get him in safely. At this point, a 4am emergency visit is practically routine for us.

The vets found his gums were pale, and after running tests overnight, we learned his heart is weak. The combination of anemia and kidney disease — which has actually improved — has taken a toll on his little heart. Now it’s a balancing act, trying to give him comfort and quality of life.

His prognosis isn’t great — maybe 6 months to a year, if we’re lucky. Maybe even more. But we’re not giving up. Buddah still has that spark in him, that little fighter’s spirit we all know and love. We’ve had to make tough calls with our other fur babies before, and it’s never easy.

So here we are again, doing everything we can for Buddah. If you’d like to help us with his ongoing care and the never-ending vet bills, we’d be beyond grateful. Every little bit helps us keep fighting alongside him.

Because if there’s one thing Buddah has taught us — it’s that even in limbo, love keeps going.

(And yes… just like his dad, he’s racking up those medical bills. Damn cat.)
