Buckaroo, or Bucky as we call him, was abandoned as a puppy and found below the M outside of Bozeman. When we met him at Heart of the Valley, he was just two months old, and it was love at first sight. He was so excited to play tug of war with a handkerchief my girlfriend had in her purse. A few days later, we brought him home, and from that moment, he became a part of our family. The very next day, Bucky came to work with me in the woods, felling trees and exploring the outdoors. For the past year and a half, he’s been my loyal companion, always ready for adventure and never far from my side.

Recently, Bucky’s health took a sudden and heartbreaking turn. In just three days, he went from running 15 miles a day to not being able to walk down the stairs. The vets believe something is wrong with his pancreas, but despite x-rays, ultrasounds, and countless tests, we still don’t have answers. Watching him struggle has been incredibly hard, and we’re desperate to find out what’s hurting him so he can get back to the life he loves.
