Help Bucky Fight a Urinary Blockage
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Alexis and my passion in life is helping cats.
Bucky Barnes is a beautiful 5 year old lynx point siamese/ color point tabby. He was rescued off of the streets of San Ysidro, CA as a semi feral young cat. He is very first cat I ever rescued from the street, inspiring a love for rescue, and giving me the confidence I needed as a cat rescuer/ colony caretaker and neonatal foster mom.
At his time of rescue, he was past what a lot of rescuers call “the socialization prime,” which meant it would be harder for him to trust humans.
He walked his way into our hearts and never looked back, becoming an indoor only cat. Over the past five years, he has become an incredibly vocal and outgoing boy, so different than the young shy cat digging through the McDonald’s dumpsters that we once knew.
He is facing a urinary blockage which is life threatening. Wednesday night, we rushed him to the closest emergency vet that was open, which was across the border in San Luis, Mexico.
Upon intake, his vets informed us that he would need a urine test and abdominal ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed multiple crystals in his abdomen. He is currently on medication to break down the crystals and they have given him a catheter to help him try to pass urine. He is also on medication to help with pain and inflammation.
If he is unable to pass urine, a surgery will need to be performed to save his life.
My heart is heavy, terrified, and hopeful writing this plea for help. I don’t know what to say, or where to start. Everything feels unreal and I don’t know what to do.
As an emotional support animal, Bucky provides comfort, support, and love to his paw-rents. Anyone who has spent an ounce of time with me knows that my cats rule my world, and I will do anything I can for them, always.
We have currently spent close to $500 US dollars for the initial intake and exam fees.
He has currently spent Wednesday and Thursday night at the hospital. He will be staying at least 2-3 more nights, but up to 2 weeks more.
If anyone has a penny to spare, please consider helping me save Bucky’s life. I would do anything for him.
Vet Updates to be added below:

Bucky is currently going under anesthesia to get the catheter put in once again and will be monitored to see if he is able to pee. Please send positive energies, thoughts, and love to him.
