Help Bucky Beat Cancer and Medical Debt
Spende geschützt
You may have heard our precious boy Bucky was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. Ralph set-up a go-fund me to help raise money during the original diagnosis. We are so grateful that so many people care about us and our dog! It helped us out tremendously. We are currently looking at $9,000 we still have left in Bucky's medical debt. The 0% interest stage is ending on my Care Credit Card and I'm incurring a new and BIG interest bill every month. Basically $5,500 will get us through the next uncertain financial chapter so we can afford to pay this debt.
While we raised around $5,000 initially through our friends' generosity, it was only able to cover the costs of his diagnosis and all the tests to determine what type of cancer he had and how to fight it. For 28 weeks after his diagnosis Bucky went to weekly or bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments.
We have experience getting a dog treated for cancer and decided to only continue if he was reacting well and maintained a high quality of life. We are happy to report that Bucky completed the treatment and kept his spirits up the entire time. His anxiety crept up on him from time to time, he caught a rat in the park that attacked him, his blood cell levels bounce up and down, but overall he's continued to live his same lifestyle. Most people don't believe he's a sick dog, probably because his steroids make him want to rip up every toy and roll of toilet paper known to man!
The costs of Chemo have been racking up on my care-credit and I'm hoping to get some help with the current bills. Ralph had an unfortunate set of circumstances with employment, first because of the writers strike, and then because he got injured and broke his wrist at the job he worked at in the interim, making him unable to work when the strike ended. Thankfully his company compensated some so he was able to make his rent etc. I am about to be unemployed for the summer break and have been diligently working to complete a degree while working full-time this school year.
It would be amazing if through mutual aid we didn't have to stress about the interest incurring over the summer while we both focus on Bucky and our health. That would be around $5,500.
There is so much going on in the world and we know it's a tough time to ask for support. We appreciate even the smallest amount to help relieve this unexpected debt. Even if we don't get a cent, it was all worth it to already have 9 months longer with Bucky.
Thank you if you even read this far. Your support means the world to us!
