Buckley came into our lives as a timid six-month-old, having lost his bonded brother and struggling to trust people. Despite his fear, we saw something special in him and welcomed him into our family, determined to give him the nurturing home he needed. Over the past two years, Buckley has slowly learned to trust us and his new siblings, two other cats and two dogs, finding comfort and even learning to play. His progress has been a source of pride for our whole family, including our child who helps with his care.

On August 12th, 2025, at 9:30 pm, Buckley suffered a traumatic accident, breaking his femur and requiring urgent surgery within the next 24-48 hours. We rushed him to the hospital and he was seen by 10:40 pm, with an initial estimate provided that night. The procedure will involve pins and plates, and his recovery will be especially challenging due to his anxiety and tendency to self-harm when stressed. The funds raised will go directly toward Buckley’s surgery, follow-up care, and the supplies needed to keep him comfortable and safe during his two-month recovery at home. My partner is covering most of the expenses, but the financial burden is overwhelming, and our family is doing everything we can to support Buckley through this difficult time.
