Help Buck and Rhoda Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
We are organizing this fundraiser for one of our company employees, Wayne "Buck" Trevitz. Buck and his wife Rhoda lost everything in a fire on November 4, 2024. The fire started in their chimney and quickly engulfed the house as Rhoda was trying to save some of their personal items. Luckily, both Rhoda and Buck escaped unharmed... physically.
The fire displaced Buck and Rhoda from the home where they lived for 48 years. They are now living in a camper on their property that has no water and is a very small space. Not only are they trying to cope with the loss of property and memories, but are struggling to figure out how to "rebuild" their lives with no financial means to do so. Buck and Rhoda have old-fashioned values and lived a simple life without TVs, cell phones, and many luxuries that most of us can't imagine life without. Buck and Rhoda are the type of people to give anything they could to help someone in need, even someone they hardly knew, and now they are in a position of needing that same kindness from strangers.
Due to having a wood stove, there was no insurance to cover their losses. To add to their financial issues, they also maintained their savings in cash in their home, which was also lost during the fire. Buck is in his mid-70s and works part-time with my company, and Rhoda is in her mid-60s and works part-time at a nursing home and suffers from a serious medical issue. Any donations that anyone is willing and able to give will go a long way to helping this couple move forward from this tragic loss. All money raised will go directly to helping Buck and Rhoda with any needs they have.
