Help Bubzie with Chemotherapy

Bubzie’s Story

Hi everyone. I am Ashley, Bubzie’s mom. On June 12th, Bubzie was diagnosed with small cell lymphoma. He suffers from vomiting, increased appetite, and weight loss because the cancer prevents his tummy from absorbing nutrients. Due to the cancer spreading and attacking his liver, he also suffers from jaundice (yellowing of the skin and organs). Because the cancer has already progressed, we need to start chemotherapy as soon as possible.

Why chemotherapy?

Bubzie is 11 years old and as sick as he is, he does have a lot of fight left in him. The doctor wasn’t sure if he was going to survive the recovery from the surgery but Bubzie has pulled through and healed faster than anticipated. I also just put my other cat of 15 years down on May 6th, and I’d really like to avoid putting another one of my babies down so soon.

I want to know I did everything possible to help Bubzie and give him the opportunity to fight, which is the main reason I created this gofundme.

Breakdown of Expenses

The blood work, biopsy, surgery, and hospital stay for his diagnosis totaled to $2,694. I was barely able to scrape that together with the help of my wedding savings and my emergency savings.

Treatment is once a month for six months. The chemo and steroid combination will total to about $250/month. Then on the sixth month he will need an ultrasound and will help determine if he’s been responding to treatment.
