Help Bubba with Medical Expense

Donation protected
Glenn "Bubba" Brooks suffered an extremely severe hemorrhagic stroke in June of 2019. Rapid response from his wife Debbie, and the heroes responsible for his immediate treatment saved Bubba’s life that day, but the incident severely impacted his physical and mental abilities. He suffered full right side paralysis, and the inability to speak.
Debbie, has been unwavering since the incident. Managing Bubba’s care plan and her demanding work schedule to provide for their needs, she’s displayed a human strength that I’ve never encountered in all my life. She claims it to be supernatural fortification. A strength that can only be provided by God as he watches over them both. Such beautiful perspective for an individual enduring a story of hardship.
Witnessing Bubba’s battle to recovery has been an extremely emotional journey. He’s encountered successes and failures. He’s had great days, and days where he no longer had the strength to continue. He’s experienced victory, and defeat. However, through the struggle, there’s an amazing amount of beauty in witnessing him slowly regain some of his independence. In the 2 years since the incident, and with tireless physical, occupational, and speech therapy, Bubba has made an amazing amount of progress in recovery. Today, he’s more mobile than ever. He no longer requires around the clock assistance, or use of a wheelchair for everyday life. He even has the ability to complete tasks that, back in 2019, seems unreachable. He mops, vacuums, washes dishes, washes clothes, and can even put a fitted sheet on the bed with his single, functional arm.
Recently, the family was made aware of a trial medication being administered by Dr. Edward Tobinick of the Institute of Neurological Recovery in Boca Raton, Florida. A story was featured by the longstanding news series 60 Minutes in Australia. It displays evidence of miraculous, and instantaneous, recovery. “Stroke reversal” they call it.
It’s had tremendous success. More than 80 percent of patients see improvements in their ability to walk, more than 80 percent have less spasticity, and more than 85 percent exhibit improved motor function. Improvements also are recorded in many patients' ranges of motion, pain, and cognition, as well as their ability to speak, see, swallow, concentrate, and maintain bowel control.
Below is a link to the 60 Minutes story. Its 22 minutes of scientific innovation and personal stories, but the most impactful portion that displays the medication’s effectiveness is from 8:25 to 14:15. We hope you’ll watch.
This GoFundMe is being setup to assist the family with paying for this procedure, $15,600 in total. Insurance is unwilling to cover any portion as the medication is still in trial phase, but they desperately want to see Bubba back to 100%. So much so that they’ve scheduled an appointment on February 11th for Doctor Tobinick to administer the drug. They stated that they will do whatever it takes to give Bubba a chance at being himself again.
Anything you are willing to donate for Bubba’s recovery would be a beautiful gift.
With all the family’s love, respect, and adoration…thank you.
