Hello, my name is Kiara, and I met Bubba April 21, 2018. My family and I went in to the local Humane Society randomly, with no intention of coming out with a pet (much less a cat). We looked at the dogs (I wanted to take every single one home), and then we looked at the cats. I noticed that one cat was all alone, not sharing the kennel with any of the others. I would later discover this means he has FIV, but as any emo 13 year old, I related to him, and we requested to see him in a separate room. I remember he was really shy, and had his body loafed down to the ground, shedding hair everywhere (poor guy was stressed). But, he came towards me, and curled into my lap. So that day, we took him home with us, in a cardboard box.

Over time, he became the sweetest, cutest little guy in the world. His personality was finally able to shine through. He's probably one of the most gentle, loving cats out there. Even now that he's in pain, all he wants is love.

Over a week ago, he started getting sick. He wasn't eating anymore, and we weren't really sure what was going on. We found out he ate a (huge) hair tie, and has undergone surgery to get it removed. He's still not out of the woods, since we're waiting on a biopsy of his liver, but either way, we are trying to do everything we can to help him. He currently has symptoms/signs of fatty liver disease, and there's a high possibility he may need a feeding tube.

If you can, and of course, want to, anything would help with his medical expenses, which as of now has only been able to be paid through credit. I know there's so much going on in the world right now, so I very much understand that, arguably, this isn't a priority, but I just want my little man back. Thank you soso much.

Hola, mi nombre es Kiara, y conocí a Bubba el 21 de abril de 2018. Mi familia y yo entramos al Humane Society sin ninguna intención de salir con una mascota (y mucho menos un gato). Vimos a los perros (yo quería llevarme a cada uno a casa), y luego vimos a los gatos. Noté que había un gato solito, sin compañero de jaula como los otros. Más tarde descubriría que esto significa que tiene FIV, pero como cualquier adolescente emo de 13 años, me identifiqué con él, y pedimos verlo en una habitación aparte. Recuerdo que era muy tímido y tenía su cuerpo encogido contra el suelo, soltando pelo por todas partes (el pobre estaba estresado). Pero se me acercó y se acosto en mis piernas. Así que ese día lo llevamos a casa en una caja de cartón.

Con el tiempo, se convirtió en el gatito más dulce y adorable del mundo. Su personalidad finalmente pudo brillar. Probablemente es uno de los gatos más gentiles y cariñosos que existen. Incluso ahora que tiene dolor, lo único que quiere es amor.

Hace más de una semana, empezó a enfermarse. Ya no estaba comiendo, y no estábamos muy seguros de qué estaba pasando. Descubrimos que se comió una liga para el cabello (muy grande), y se sometió a una cirugía para retirarla. Aún no está fuera de peligro, ya que estamos esperando una biopsia de su hígado, pero de cualquier manera, estamos tratando de hacer todo lo posible para ayudarlo. Actualmente tiene síntomas/señales de enfermedad del hígado graso, y hay una alta posibilidad de que necesite una sonda de alimentación.

Si puedes, y por supuesto si quieres, cualquier cosa ayudaría con sus gastos médicos, que por ahora solo han podido pagarse con crédito. Sé que hay muchas cosas pasando en el mundo en este momento, así que entiendo perfectamente que, en comparación, esto no sea una prioridad, pero solo quiero recuperar a mi pequeño.
