Help BSAS Recover After Devastating Facebook Hack

Tax deductible
My dear friend, mentor, and colleague, Alesja, along with her husband Alex, has built Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary into one of the most selfless and lifesaving places I’ve ever known. For more than 10 years, they have poured their hearts, souls, and every ounce of energy into giving over 150 rescued animals a safe home.

I can personally say that Alesja is one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met. She balances caring for all of the animals, running a nonprofit, working a full-time job, and still somehow finds the time to uplift other sanctuaries like mine. She taught me nearly everything I know about caring for pigs and running a rescue. She rarely ever says no to an animal in need, because she knows that if she doesn’t step up, no one else will.

Their sanctuary is filled with stories of animals alive today only because Alesja and Alex said yes. When a litter of newborn piglets was left to die, they didn’t hesitate; they brought them home and nursed them around the clock. Baby lambs have been cared for in their living room, while Alex slept on the couch to keep watch. Alex himself works a full-time job outside of the sanctuary, yet he is also the nurse, the builder, the chef, and the one who stays up through the night to cradle orphans. Together, they are the kind of people this world desperately needs.

But right now, they need us.

Blind Spot’s nonprofit Facebook page, which took 10 years to build to 70,000 followers, was hacked. Though they managed to regain access to the page itself, the followers - the lifeline of their fundraising - are gone. Overnight, their ability to share their stories and raise the funds needed for food, bedding, and urgent vet care vanished.

For sanctuaries, Facebook isn’t just a platform, it’s survival. And without it, Blind Spot’s 150 animals are at risk. This loss has left Alesja heartbroken, wondering how they can continue. Losing that connection has been a crushing blow, not only for Blind Spot but for the entire community that depends on them.

I am starting this fundraiser to ask you to rally around them. My goal is to raise $10,000 to stabilize Blind Spot while they rebuild their online presence. Every dollar will go directly to the care of their animals, ensuring they are fed, safe, and given the medical attention they need while this setback is repaired.

Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary has given everything for animals who had nothing. Now, they need us. Please consider donating, and if you cannot give, please share their story. Together, we can make sure Alesja, Alex, and all the precious lives they protect not only survive this crisis, but continue to thrive for years to come.
