After years of debilitating migraines, and numerous hypothetical musings that she had a brain tumor, Brynne recently saw a neurologist to get some answers. She had a CT (and MRI to confirm) and the doctors indeed found she has a 3cm Meningioma (tumor) on the lining of her brain. While meningiomas are most often benign, the only way to tell for sure is to have surgery to remove it. Given her family history of cancer and her migraine symptoms, the doctors found it would be in her best interest to remove it ASAP.
So, on April 27th, Brynne will be undergoing surgery to remove the tumor. This will most likely involve an invasive ear to ear incision across the top of her head. They will then send the tumor to pathology to check the status and she may also require gamma knife radiation to be sure it’s all been taken out. She will spend at least 2 days in the icu, several more days in the hospital recovering, and at least 6 weeks at home recovering.
While Brynne does have insurance, the surgery and hospital stay alone will be close to, or possibly over, $150,000, which will not all be covered. Not to mention loss of wages Jay will incur by taking off work for 2 weeks to take care of Brynne, medicines that Brynne will be on, both in and out of the hospital; and any loss of wages she may also experience if she were allowed to legally return to work before her 6+ week recovery time. It will also cover any unforeseen financial issues that could come up if complications were to occur; or just expenses that one recovering from brain surgery may experience. She has also been out of work for weeks already due to Covid-19. We are asking for help to raise $60,000 to help their family with the financial burden so they can focus on getting Brynne better!
We understand that this is a hard time to ask for money and that so many are out of work and struggling. Any amount helps and we know the Rollins family (and her extended family) will be so thankful for anything you are willing and able to donate. We will also have a meal train set up closer to her surgery. Please contact Holly Fry or Ashley McGuire directly, or leave a private comment here with your email, and they will contact you. The money collected will be deposited directly into Brynne & Jay’s bank account. If you would like to donate cash or check, please reach out privately to the team and we can arrange a way to get those funds to them!
You can also donate directly though Venmo to Jay:

We know that Brynne is loved by many and has a large and eclectic group of friends, acquaintances, and loved ones who would be happy to help at this time. Again, thank you so much for your support and please also pray for Brynne, Jay, and Mahaby!
