Help Brynn Attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders

Hello,
My name is Rebecca, and my husband and I are the proud parents of three incredible daughters who inspire us every single day. As parents, we want nothing more than to give them every opportunity to grow, dream big, and reach their full potential.

Our oldest daughter, Brynn, is one of the most determined and intelligent young women I know. She's consistently excelled in school, always pushing herself to achieve more. She's currently a junior in high school and completing her first year in the BioMed program at The Career and Technology Center. Her dream is to work in medical laboratory science — and I have no doubt she’ll get there.

Recently, Brynn was nominated to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, an honors-only program for high-achieving high school students who aspire to careers in medicine or scientific research. This prestigious event takes place in Boston, MA from June 25–27, where delegates learn from Nobel Prize winners, groundbreaking scientists, and leaders in the medical field. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we’re so proud that Brynn was selected.

But to make this happen, we need your help.

The past two years have brought a number of challenges to our family. My husband, Anthony, has faced serious health setbacks — including a hospitalization due to FLU A, a bone infection in his spine, and recent diagnoses of COPD, Congestive Heart Failure, and Diabetes. He’s been hospitalized several times, and although his work ethic remains unshaken, his health has made it difficult for us to keep up with our small junk removal business, which we run together as a team of two.

On top of that, Brynn herself faced a terrifying health scare last year. A skin tag removed from her eyelid tested positive for Basal Cell Carcinoma — an extremely rare diagnosis for someone her age. She underwent surgery at Johns Hopkins in November to remove the cancer and repair the area. Thankfully, her recent dermatology check-up showed no new concerns, but she will need regular monitoring for years to come. We’re also waiting to see a geneticist to better understand why this happened at such a young age.

Despite everything she’s faced, Brynn continues to shine. She has stayed strong, focused, and hopeful. And now, she’s been offered this incredible opportunity — one that could shape the course of her future.

We’re hoping to raise funds to cover the costs of attending the Congress, including travel (we’re planning to take the train and rent a car), hotel accommodations (likely five nights), meals, and any additional expenses. I’ll be traveling with her to make sure everything goes smoothly.

We know times are tough for many, and it’s not easy to ask for help. But if you’re able to contribute — or even just share this page — it would mean the world to our family. Your support will not only help Brynn attend this life-changing event, but also remind her that she has a community cheering her on.

Thank you for reading our story and for being part of this journey.

With love and gratitude,
Rebecca & Family
