I’m starting this fundraiser for a close friend who is like a brother — a hardworking single father of two amazing kids, ages 9 and 12 who would give you the shirt off his back. Bryce is one of those people who never asks for anything, always puts his kids first, and quietly shoulders more than anyone realizes.

A few weeks ago, he received news that turned his world upside down: a diagnosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. While his doctors are hopeful for a good outcome, the treatment ahead will be long and difficult. He’s already missed a lot of work just getting through many tests, surgery and appointments to get to this diagnosis. Now, with months of chemotherapy ahead, he is going to be unable to work for a minimum of 6 months according to his oncologist- if all goes well.

He’s a mechanic by trade, and like many single parents, he’s been doing everything he can to stay afloat — but between lost income, regular bills, and the costs that come with raising two kids, things are quickly becoming overwhelming.

Asking for help like this is not something he would ever do for himself — which is why I’m doing it for him. He’s a strong, humble, and kind person who would never want to be the center of attention — but right now, he truly needs his community behind him so he can focus on his battle.

The funds raised will help cover:

Basic living expenses while he is unable to work

Extra costs that come up during treatment and recovery
