Help Bryan Navigate His New Way Of Life With MS

HOW WE CAME TO FIND BRYAN'S MS DIAGNOSIS

On January 27th Bryan had to call out of work due to having little strength in his left leg. He chalked it up to having a demanding physical job and getting old.
He went on with his weekend like normal... His daughter Layla's basketball game, lunch with the family, errands, and a disappointing playoff game! While dropping off the girls to their mother for the school week ahead, he let her know that he had lost strength in his left arm as well, that morning. She instructed him to go to the ER immediately. He had been hesitant since he did not have insurance, and was more concerned about the bill than he was about his health. After arriving at the Sutter ER many tests were done to find out what was happening. They decided to admit Bryan with the first suspected diagnosis of a stroke. As the days went on being admitted, Bryan saw many different specialists and had multiple tests done. After ruling out a stroke, Multiple Sclerosis was a possible diagnosis... We waited a couple of days to find out a sure answer.

HOW BRYAN IS GETTING AROUND WITH MS

Bryan was able to finally go home on February 3rd. He is unable to walk without the assistance of a walker. Even with the walker, his mobility is limited to very short distances around his house. He has a wheelchair for longer distances with the assistance of someone pushing him.

THE NEXT STEPS OF DEALING WITH MS

Getting Bryan settled in his home and situated to the point of being able to navigate daily living alone has been the main focus. He will be starting PT and OT weekly to hopefully gain some strength back. Bryan is determined to work hard at anything that needs to be done to benefit his health.

US AS A FAMILY DEALING WITH BRYAN'S MS DIAGNOSIS

Both Braelyn and Layla struggled with their father being in the hospital. They were worried and scared not knowing what was going on and trying to understand why he needed to be there for so long. Now with the diagnosis of MS, I am trying to educate and inform them of the disease. Seeing their father debilitated scared them and caused them a lot of concern. I can only imagine what Bryan is personally going through as well. I am trying to show them that I am here to support them and their father through this new way of life. I want them to know that we all care for their father and are here to help in any way that we can.

DONATING TO HELP BRYAN NAVIGATE HIS NEW LIFE WITH MS

All donations will go towards Bryan focusing on recovering and hopefully gaining his mobility back. He will be out of work (as an insulator) for the foreseeable future. I am hoping to take the stress of some of his bills off of him so he can focus on his health for himself and his daughters.
