Help Bryan Bring Music Therapy to Hazelden
Donation protected
Greetings,
My name is Bryan Garcia and music has always been a major part of my life, providing guidance, healing, and personal growth. For the last two years I've been working to implement music based interventions at The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation with the hope of establishing a full music therapy program to help those recovering from addiction through the healing power of music. In this time I have had music workshops added to programming, taught continuing education courses to other clinicians about evidence based practices for addiction recovery, and successfully advocated for instruments and resources to be made available for patients. Now I have reached another milestone in this process and been accepted to the University of Minnesota's Music Therapy Certification Program. This certification will enable me to fully realize this program and bring the healing power of music to the patients we serve.
Due to this being a non-degree seeking track, I am not eligible for student loans and am required to pay the entire cost out of pocket. This will be a significant investment, both monetarily and of time and energy but well worth it for the opportunity to use these interventions to help as many people possible. Any support I receive will help me move one step closer to making this goal a reality. I hope you will donate if able and help me bring music to Hazelden Betty Ford. This will add yet another force of hope and healing into my repertoire for helping my patients as they grow in their sobriety and move forward in their recovery journeys.
