Help Brutally Injured Sandy's Vet Fees

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Maison Fioravante, and I am Sandy's "sissy".

Sandy is our cat of over 6+ years. He was a stray and one summer about 6 years ago, he found himself in our back yard on his last leg. He was covered in fleas, had burnt paws, etc. and with the help of a local rehabilitator, we nursed Sandy back to health, had his ear clipped as he was a stray, but this boy decided to keep us as his forever family and home. Sandy was always a healthy boy, minus some kidney issues which causes him to be on a special diet. Anyone that knows him knows he is a loving boy, who has the biggest bond with our mother, Lisa Fioravante.

Horrendously, on the night of July 14th of 2021, we found Sandy outside under our old duck shack after a day of my grandmother searching for him (I am physically handicapped and cannot walk more than a few feet). It took her, and our wonderful neighbor to get him out from under the shack and into the house. I noticed right away something wasn't right, and our family would soon learn more that there were a plethora of things wrong with him.

I first noticed blood streaming from his left eye, and noticed his eye had been pierced, my initial instinct was that he was shot (and it has been confirmed he had been shot with a BB pellet gun directly in the eye as well as brutally tortured physically by the hands of a human, which I will explain more of shortly).

Sadly my parents were on vacation but they rushed home ASAP. Our family friend Jen took him to the emergency vet clinic in Shillington straight away, where he still is now, where our worst fears were proven to be true: Sandy was beaten to a pulp and intentionally shot directly in his eye. Since Wednesday evening, Sandy is continuing to decline in his health. His left eye has since been removed but he has the following things wrong with him: a hematoma in his brain, brain swelling, throat swelling and deformity from the blunt force trauma, has neurological damage, he is bleeding internally somewhere but the vets cannot find out where, etc ( I will be uploading his discharge papers from his initial discharge shortly after finalizing this GoFundMe page among other pictures, bills, etc.). He has been at the emergency clinic 3 times since Wednesday and continues to decline. He is now totally blind, cannot walk because of the blunt force trauma causing neurological damage, and the second time he was at the emergency clinic, his red blood cell count was low, at 30, and as of his last test today, it is down to 20 which is getting dangerous.

As of today, Sandy boy is getting a blood transfusion and we are hoping for the best. He also has seen his regular vet but they immediately sent him back to the clinic to get round-the-clock care. We are hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. All funds donated will but put the large amount of medical bills he is accumulating (we do NOT blame him in the slightest for this) and any remaining fund will be donated to the original rehab that helped him thrive to be our boy, and other animal charities around the Reading, PA area.

I will update as much as possible and I cannot express how grateful

my family and I will be for any help no matter how big or small.

My warmest regards and thanks
