I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but today I’m asking for help for my sweet boy, Bruno. Yesterday, Bruno was diagnosed with a CCL (ACL) rupture, a painful knee injury that makes it extremely difficult for dogs to walk without surgery. Since then, I’ve watched him struggle to move, hesitate before standing, and rest in ways that just aren’t him. Not being able to explain to him why he’s hurting has been absolutely heartbreaking.

Bruno is a 9-year-old Maltipoo and truly our shadow. He follows us everywhere we go, always right by our side. He’s incredibly gentle, loving, and protective. His favorite things in the world are playing fetch and going on long walks together, and watching him unable to enjoy those simple joys has been devastating.

The only way for Bruno to live a comfortable, pain-free life again is through surgery and recovery care. As his person, I will do everything I can for him—but I can’t do this alone. Bruno isn’t just a pet—he’s family. He’s been my constant companion, my comfort on hard days, and my little protector through everything. Asking for help is not easy, but I’m doing it because Bruno deserves a chance to heal and return to the life he loves.
