Bruno’s journey began in the chaos of the 2025 LA wildfires, when he was found at just four months old wandering the streets with a severe rectal prolapse. Someone had dumped him, but Roadogs Rescue stepped in and gave him a second chance, providing several life-saving surgeries and intensive care over three months. Bruno’s resilience and spirit shone through, and he was eventually adopted by Travis, a disabled veteran and firefighter who suffers from PTSD. Bruno became Travis’s emotional support dog, offering comfort and companionship through every challenge. They are inseparable, and Bruno is deeply loved and needed.

Recently, Travis moved to Chicago for a new job as a firefighter, leaving behind his support system. Bruno is his whole world, especially in this new city. This morning, Bruno was rushed to the ER, unable to stand and struggling to breathe. The air quality in Chicago has been severely impacted by Canadian wildfires, and Bruno quickly developed severe pneumonia, heading towards sepsis. He is now in the ICU, in an oxygen tank, and on IV antibiotics. The veterinary bills have already reached $13,929, and Travis is doing everything he can to save his best friend.
