Help Bruki Stay Cool

Hello! If you don’t know me, my name is Julie Liszka and I am helping to run this GoFundMe to pay for HVAC installation in Brook’s condominium. Brook is disabled by a severe chronic illness that keeps her mostly homebound and has also given her a heat sensitivity just in time for global warming! Installing an HVAC system in her home will update her temperature control to a more effective and affordable system. This will help her be prepared to weather both rising heat and rising energy costs in the future. Maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures will also reduce some of the illness symptoms that flare up in the summer heat.

Brook has received a low-income weatherization grant from her local utility company that will pay $4,500 toward a new HVAC system. Her dad is covering electrical which will be billed separately. All she has to do is cover the $2,697 that's left! We added $303 to the fundraising goal to cover estimated GoFundMe fees. Along with the grant, she also qualifies for a zero-interest loan, but is hesitant to take on monthly payments. Our hope is to raise enough funds to cover the whole cost of the new system, but any amount raised will reduce the size of the loan she will need. So, every little bit of help will improve her situation! Courtney and I are helping Brook manage this project. She will be getting a 2-head split ductless HVAC system and we will update as we go!
