Chainsaw Injury: Blaine's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On May 26, 2025, Blaine was doing some work cutting trees. While doing so, the chainsaw kicked back, lacerating his kneecap.

My husband had to get three layers of stitches at the ER. The following day, Blaine saw his PCP, and everything was good. On Friday, my husband saw his PCP again in excruciating pain. Blaine was given stronger antibiotics and some pain medications and sent home. Saturday is the day that we ended up in the ER, and Blaine was admitted because the infection was already in his bloodstream. They got us back fast, but due to the infection, they had to do surgery, and we had to stay several days. Yes, he does have insurance, but it only covers so much. As of Monday, we owed $9,247.00. This is not including the wound care that he will need now that we are home, along with physical therapy. They are saying it's going to be at least 3-4 months before he can return to work, and that's on the low end. Blaine was our main source of income. We have a house note, along with the normal bills. We do not receive assistance from the government. With 3 growing kids out of school for the summer, home eating more, all this adds up. Whether you can donate $5, $10, $20, or more, we would be very grateful.
