Hello, my name is Becky Compton Kurth.
My siblings, Stephen Compton, Esther Compton Thiem, Elizabeth Compton Breckley and I are reaching out to you with a humble request for support for Bruce Turner and his family.
Our beloved brother-in-law Bruce Turner is currently in a Hospital in British Columbia, Canada, facing severe medical challenges that require ongoing treatment for Cancer complications. The Doctor's and Nurses have been awesome with Bruce while he is fighting for his life. Losing Carol, the love of his life, in October 2025 was a terrible loss for Bruce.
In 2024, we were able to send Carol Turner and her family over $7,000. This was a tremendous blessing to them.
We are opening this GoFundMe again to help Bruce and his family. Your donation will help with uncovered costs that Bruce and his family will have.
Bruce, and his family are enduring significant financial and emotional strain. Two of their daughters have had to take time off from their hourly-paid jobs to be by their father’s side to support him. The long commute adds substantial costs for gas, food, and cell phone usage, on top of the lost wages to meet monthly rent and expenses. Another daughter has traveled from Washington State to Canada to help support Bruce and family during this time of need. There will also be moving expense for another of the daughters that lived with Bruce and Carol to help care for them at their later years of life.
Please send well wishes and memories to be read to Bruce. We want him to remember that we are all praying for him and encourage him to continue to fight for his life.
As Bruce and his family navigates this crisis, they need our support more than ever.
Your contributions will help cover:
Uncovered Medical treatments and durable medical supplies.
Travel expenses, including gas and food for family.
International Cell phone service to keep family members in the USA and Canada informed.
The lost wages of Bruce's daughters to meet their expenses while traveling to the Hospital to support their Dad.
Moving related expenses as the family member transitions from living with Bruce to another location.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and help ease the burden on Bruce and his family. We are incredibly grateful for any support you can provide during this challenging time.
Please keep Bruce and family in your thoughts and prayers. If you’re able to help, you can make a donation through this Gofundme page.
Carol and Bruce Turner's Life Story:
Many of you know Carol and Bruce Turner's life story. But many of you haven't seen them in a great while. I'll try to be brief, but by knowing them you would know they would be the first to step up and help anyone they could.
Bruce was a Construction/Builder from Canada who became a Missionary that took his family from California to Oklahoma and back to his home Country of Canada while continuing to run a small Construction company.
Carol and Bruce served their community in Canada by having a small private school at their church while raising their five children.
Being in his late 70s, the toll of time and these professions have caught up and surpassed Bruce by presenting serious health issues. Bruce has been fighting Cancer for several years. For a while the treatments have help him survive, but losing Carol in October 2025 was a tremendous loss, as she was his daily nurse, as well as the love of his life.
All funds will be transferred directly to them or distributed to them from my home location in Wisconsin.
Your generosity and compassion are deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your prayers, love and support during this time.
